Our Week 14 Top Logistics Stories
It’s week 14 and here are three stories you should be updating your customers and prospects on this week. They need your expertise!
Shippers may not be aware of what’s occurring or its importance, so offering your assistance and insights will help you build a stronger relationship with them.
Knowing what’s going on in the market is only half the battle. Your customers need to be told what to do about it and they should hear that from you.
1. A major tariff announcement is coming Wednesday, and it’s expected to include reciprocal tariffs on pretty much every country trading with the US. No one can be surprised by the new tariffs since they’ve been discussed for months. What is important now is to help your clients understand how they’ll be impacted and offer solutions to mitigate their impact and new ideas to lower their supply chain costs.
2. The quarterly Supply Chain Risk Index from Lehigh University was just released, and the tension in the marketplace due to geopolitics is apparent. Supplier Risk ranked as the highest overall risk at the highest level ever recorded since the survey started in 2020. This reflects growing concerns over suppliers, geography, quality issues, and price volatility.
3. Manufacturing is struggling again after seeing modest growth last month. Industry performance dipped back into economic contraction in March as companies grappled with the uncertainty surrounding the Trump administration’s tariff regime. The uncertainty and lack of confidence are likely to continue.
Of course, these stories are just a small part of what’s going on in the supply chain space right now. Updating your clients on how this and other information is relevant to their business is a way to provide more value and strengthen your relationships.
